Pin and Verify Phone Number

    So today when I went into check my earnings for adsense I had a message that I had a hold on my payments. I clicked on it and it asked me to verify my PIN (yes I finally reached the ten dollar mark.) and to verify my phone number. So I click verify phone number, got a call from Google's automatic dialer with my pin. Put it in and volia I was half way verified. I am however slightly confused because I have only reached $9.93 and they issued my pin to me today. I thought that you had to reach ten dollars?

    I live in the US.

    Anyone else asked to verify phone number before in the US?
    Anyone ever give a PIN below ten dollars?

    I never did the phone thing but they actually sent me a card in the mail to Australia with a pin to enter and this was once I reached $10 +.

    i had got my pin when it was $50 , maybe there system picked you up by mistake

    I did nothing with PIN :D Adsense says that PIN will be send once balance reaches $10. I got $10 long times before (months) but google did not send me anything. On my account it doesn't show any info about PIN as well. I was contact GA and they said that...

    I dont know the PIN letter look like but I still get payment from GA. My first time payment is processing :)

    You really had to post a thread because Adsense allowed you to confirm your account couple of cents earlier?

    It wasn't because they did it earlier than usual it was more so because of the verify by phone that I was unsure of. I had heard about pin numbers just not to verify a five digit number by phone call.
