    Hey guys,

I’ve been wrestling with this idea for a while. I need to place my logo on some promotional products but I want to make sure the logo is the best it can be. Below is a picture of my current logo

I like my logo but I want to see if it can be improved by using different fonts or different effects or whatever. Here’s what I want:

Colours: stick with red and white only

The position: I very much like the position as it is now (name of logo in front of a globe)

The globe: the globe must stay but you can modify it or make your own globe

The text: world class proteins MUST appear on the top part of the globe

The name of the logo is: ProteinDirect.com.au

The prize is $22 if I don’t decide NOT to keep the logo but I still will pick a winner in which case I will keep my existing logo and you don’t need to send anything over I will still send the $22 prize via paypal)

    Or

the prize will be $55 if I like the logo and decide to keep it. In this case you need to send it in Photoshop. ($55 via paypal)

If you need the original psd files here are the links below:

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/hbfhxw

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/ruhwpg

Any questions, please ask. Contest finishes on Monday the 4th of February.

RNHalawi: thanks for the new entry. It looks good. Thanks for asking about my health. I am recovering but I learned my lesson, and that is not to show her any designs. I am still wearing the long sleeves though.

Tallum: thanks for the submission. It is a very nice logo. At this stage I would rather look at the concepts rather than requesting changes.

To anyone else interested in taking part in this: the changes (improvements) do not necessarily have to be major changes. As an example, if you just made the white outline thicker for the letters covering the globe that could be enough. Or if you just used a different font, or added a new effect to the font etc. You can be more creative but this is just a suggestion.

Hmm....is my logo that perfect looking that only two designers decided to try amd improve it? Remember, even small changes could make you the winner of this contest.

@ KevinC, Zellibin, zeba5 and printer: thank you for the entries and for taking part in this. In my past competitions I provided detailed feedback but since this competition is a little different, at this stage I am just looking for different concepts/improvements/twists etc. I would rather only provide feedback once I decide on whether or not I will keep a design.

If you think this is not right, let me know your opinions and I will provide some feedback.

birdsq: thanks for taking part in this. I also appreciate how you placed it on the website.

smoki: welcome to digitalpoint and thanks for the entry

At this stage I am just evaluating the entries and I will be providing feedback tomorrow. I don't want to request any changes unless I have a clear winner.

If anyone else is interested, this competition is still open

watari: thanks for the great entries. Again, I will wait until tomorrow before providing feedback because I only want to request changes (if any) of the winning entry

I must say I got some great entries so far. I don't want to take anything away from you guys but I haven't got one that fully grabbed me, even though there are many top entries. Whether I choose one or I decide to keep mine I must say thanks to your great entries it will be a hard choice to make. This is the great part about running a contest here at digitalpoint.

to anyone else: competition is still open until Monday 4th Feb

@watari: thanks for the new entries. You can try changing if that's what you wish. The only suggestion is make it more modern. Your logos are creative but I need something a little more modern. In any case, I will come back with some feedback tomorrow. Your design is in the top two (but not the last entry). I am wrestling at the moment whether to keep my current logo or whether to choose between the two submissions that I like (one is yours and the other someone else's).

I will sleep on it and will come back with feedback tomorrow.

Here comes the feedback. First of all thanks to everyone who took part

RNHalawi: Great designs but not the direction I was wanting. It's a personal thing but I don't really like that rectangle

Tallum: They both look good but I wanted the proteindirect to be a little bigger. I think the emphasys is a little too much on the globe rather than on the words. Also just a personal thing, but I don't like too much the web 2 look.

KevinC: thanks for the entry. It's just not me. Personally, I don't really like gradients and I feel like the world class proteins part is a little hard to read

Zellibin: Thanks but not what I was after. I wanted proteindirect to stand out but in your design the emphasys seems to be on the globe.

Zeba5: thanks for the effort especially for placing Australia on the globe. Great idea. However, the globe is too dark for me and I somehow don't think the globe and the font go too well together since you're using different shades.

printer: very pleasant logo. It was in my top two but I am more inclined to go with the other logo (that is if I decide not to keep my current logo). I very much like the red colour you chose but I only needed red and white. I need to print this logo on some plastic and adding an extra colour (black) disqualifies it because it would cost too much extra in printing costs.

birdsq: I appreciate the entry but the font you used is a little too thin for my liking (I prefer bold) and that pink shadow is also not me. I prefer more vibrant colours like printer used.

smoki: thanks for making your first post in my contest. A great efffort but the font is a little too thin for me and the gray inside the globe makes it a little dull.

watari: I had yours in the top two until DustyDog entered. I am only referring to the logos in entry #15 since the other entries #17 (although creative) were a little too complex. I like ALL your versions in #15 and I would have probably chosen one of yours (after asking for some slight modifications) or the one submitted by printer.

DustyDog: You are the winner of the first part of this contest. I can send you the $22 straight away or you can do some changes and see if you can win the whole prize of $55. The way it stands at the moment I chose your design as the winner for one main reason: it's the most visible of all. Even the small black and white logo looks very clear and easy to read. If you want to win the full contest here's what I need:
-make a thin red outline for the whole globe
-I need a better, more vibrant red such as the one in my original logo
-I need a more modern look. Yours looks a little too cartoony (not sure if cartoony is the correct word) and I need something a little more corporate. I am not sure how you can achieve this, but perhaps you can do it by embossing the red outline.
-I also need you to send me the logo in reverse because I may have to print it on red bags instead of white.
DustyDog: it's up to you if you want to do these changes and perhaps you will convince me to part with my logo and choose yours instead. I want to be fair and if you think I request too many changes just send me your paypal address and I will send the payment($22) and you don't have to send me the current logo. Otherwise, let me know if you want to do the changes and see if you can take it all the way.

Once again, thanks to everyone who participated in this.
