    yup the images drive traffic for site and yes SE crawla the picture gallery but it only crawls if your images have <alt= ""> tags, the SE crawl this part of the html for factoring site rankings, use your KW here.

    Yeah SE crawls pic gallery too.You can try building backlinks from Social Bookmarking sites where they accept deep links.
