Absolutely not. It's perfectly within the bounds of the TOS. It's creative and it works so why not? I once saw a site that had a 160x600 AS skyscaper in the site's left hand side bar. Adjacent to the skyscraper, the site had a tall picture of a lovely lady, smiling and facing the visitor, with her arms attractively gesturing toward the AS ads. At first I thought, "No way that this can be allowed," but actually it is. Creativity pays in this game. AmCy
I am testing the theory with a few of our pages... Here is the setup: - Articles consist of mostly text. No additional pictures other than logo for site. - Pages contain links to other related articles. - Using the 160 X 600 skyscraper. - Above the skyscraper is a 200 pixel wide picture related to the articles and the ad. (example: Article about dog food. Picture of dog eating. Ads about dog food.) - Picture is high quality stock-photo. - Ads are blended with rest of site with no border. - Everything is to the left. I will let you know how it goes.
Here is my report... - Picture above ad is not as good as picture beside ad or right at start of text of article. I am still working with a small sample. However, it did produce a slight increase. I will need to monitor over the next few days. Thanks.
Yeah, picture beside ads is work wonder for me too. Esp if the ads and the picture is the same size. I put picture above ads on the worst adsense earning page.
How has it worked? I find the most effective place to put the ads is on the upper left hand corner. But it intrudes with the navigation menu. ALso, put ads on the right and side as well.
