Pics Next to Ads?

Hi i'm not sure on the following:

Are we allowed pics above or to the left and right of our Adsense Ads?

Also what about text above or below etc.. Must we specifically design a border around the ad and make sure it is as seperated as possible?

I don't want to get banned!!

You should never design a template like adsense's ads and place your image. If you have a normal image near to google ads then that should not be a problem for them. If you are in great confusion then write them to confirm on your template.

you cannot put adsense ad next to any pic. if you need to, then there has to be clear line seperating the two so that user know which one is your site content and which one is ad. in other words, visitors should not be decieved in clicking on ads.

As long as the images mean something (part of the content) and doesn't confuse users (not even a bit) to click the ads, you should be fine.

    Peace,

Use common sense and look at your page. If the images and content on your page can be misinterpreted by your visitors as being part of your Adsense ads, then don't do it. Or if the ads can be misinterpreted as being part of your content, don't do it. A border is usually the easiest way, but it's often not neccessary.

I saw some people do it, but they do it smart way.
My suggestion is, don't risk your adsense account for something like this.

Well...in google's tos it say's that ads must be separate from your page and cannot be related to another image infering them to click on them. I did have pictures next to some of my ads before, but i took them down becasue of the same reason.

I cleared out all ads that were in the "content" frame of my galleries, just to be sure. I'll put them back with a border, but it's better not to risk your account.

I think they diagram it out somewhere in Google help...go there and try to search for it. I must have found something significant enough for me to go in and make the changes.

Checked my competitor's site, their content pane has two columns and their graphics and ads were lined up side by side one in each column. Slick trick, but with Google who knows?

Pics next to ads?! Hmm, it gets HIGH CTR for sure! But gets you an instant ban for life! It worked in the earlier days...the guys who were doing it then were raking in $$$$'s...

Make sure the images dont look like they are associated with the adsense as in trickery, if it may fool the visitor then it may annoy adsense.
