I'm in college right now and our school has some good ties with microsoft considering they sell about 100,000 variously liscenced microsoft products to us yearly and we have some important people related to microsoft teacher here, like the inventer of C++, so they give us big discounts and early access to stuff. Sooooo, Im getting windows 7 for $15

I beta tested Windows 7, its cool. I wasn't a huge hater of Vista...but I still run XP on both of my home computers.

I found it slick and easy to navigate with multiple programs running. I think it will be well accepted, but buggy for at least a few months. I'll probably purchase a new comp early next year....instead of upgrading.

Super Congrats on getting it for $15. As a MSFT investor, I hope they sell a few copies more than this :) but I can imagine in the long run, they probably 'make money' on that sale.

I will probably be able to update everyone on Windows 7 by late tomorrow sometime in the next 24 to 36 hours. I need to back up my computer. Not sure how things will work updating from XP to windows 7 so to be sorry I'm going to be backing up my entire system. Its about 1.5TB so it could take a while and will likely have some issues. But hopefully I can back up and get it installed and tested soon. I love going to a school with an awesome alumni base!

Should buy a drive and do a fresh install, so you don't have to worry about backing it up.. Get an external drive case, and If you don't like windows 7, you still have your xp.
