    any idea why, on this page, the pic right below the "Upcoming Featured Event" heading does not show up in IE 8? Instead there's just a box with a red X through it. But it does show in Chrome or Firefox.

    this is what the code looks like when i firebug it:

    <h2>Upcoming Featured Event</h2>
    <p>
    <a href="/events/10-19-11/">
    <img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1588" height="495" width="700" title="GCCC2011 Web" alt="Gala" src="/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/GCCC2011-Web.jpg">
    </a>
    </p>

    Code (markup):
    please advise. thanks in advance!

    Try using the full URL of the image, rather than the .../ website URL

    VERY strange. In FF the image shows as a jpg. You can view it, save it, copy it. In IE (7 or 8) the image shows as "http://www.goldcoastchamber.com/events/10-19-11/" But if I copy the image and paste it here - I'm using FF - , it shows as an image. In IE, on this page, there's nothing to paste.

    Sorry, no answer. I'm stumped.

    Because IE is an incompetent browser.

    Hi... I think the image you saved is not properly... sometimes what happens in photoshop, when you go to save image in jpg by mistake or unknowingly the format has been different(like gif, png) but we named it as jpg format and we dont have idea about this mistake... So such image sometimes support in FF but not in IE.

    Solution: Open that image in photoshop and save as in proper format and then check...

    Thanks
    Shona

    you can check on the file extension you have saved, maybe it's not the same as the file suppose to be, hence, IE might not interpret it correctly. Another thing is. try ctr+F5. Haha. Hope it helps.
