If you are to create something, then you should probably do what you know.

If you are going to invest, it doesn't matter as long as you can market the product well.

I personally prefer e-products because then my stock room is my hard-drive!

Physical product will cost you a lot more to create, manage and fulfill but can be easier to convert.

e-products are great and can be a very good setup (especially with access to a lot of affiliates). Perceived value can be a problem though. You do the work once though and then sell it over and over (85% automated).

    In my experience anyway.

    Why not do both?

If you have a substantial product -- not a flimsy $7 ebook -- you can offer a digital version with an upsell to the physical product. That way, your customers get the instant gratification that they demand when buying an online infoproduct but have the option of having a physical version "archive".

You can get DVDs, CDs, and books created on demand very cheaply. It's not like the old days when you'd have to print 1,000 copies of a book and hope it sells. Now you can just contact your production house and have them ship a copy to your customer.

For example, Amazon's Createspace.com lets you sell on-demand copies of a book, CD, or DVD... they'll even list the product on Amazon for you. They handle all the production and shipping.

Let's say you're selling an ebook/video package for $47. You can upsell your DVD version for an extra $30... CreateSpace will create the DVD, with case and full-color artwork, for $4.95 plus shipping. So you're making an extra $22 or so with virtually no effort.

Physical products are easier to sell as they are an instant solution to someones problem. Also refunds are much, much lower and you don't need to handle the product yourself. Put it this way; you have a serious acne problem and want an instant remedy, what would you prefer to buy - an ebook or a cream you apply to make the spots disappear? There are other sites apart from Amazon to get products, such are Moreniche where you can get 25% - 33% on many products which can mean as much as $85 commission. Market Health also do high commissions, there's a lot more suppliers, just search on google for them.

well i have to disagree with this.it tottally depends on your niche and quality of product.in the im niche the e products dominate however in the health niche physical product dominate and that is becuse there cant be a ebook which tells you too recite some poem and make your pimples vanish

Agreed that physical products obviously cost much more to create, because you have to make a lot more than one of them (as opposed to an info product)

However, it depends what kind of capital you have, obviously, and what you're good at doing.

Personally, as far as promoting goes I almost exclusively promote info products. They have a much higher commission, and while you may sell a lot more physical products (i.e., Amazon), it takes a lot longer to reach a solid income with a 5% payout unless you are promoting many, many high ticket items.

BINGO... Why promote a set of Barbells for $100.00 at 5% commssion when you can promote a Home Gym system for $3000.00 at 5% commission... it takes the same amount of effort to promote either one of them ;-)

    P.S
Yes, people spend that kind of cash online all the time

Physical definitely will cost more and if I could pick between a digital or physical product, then I'd pick digital. Just which one is better really depends. In theory, I think a physical product should have less competition due to the usual high setup costs of buying stock, keeping stock and delivering it etc. However, it will depend on the market you are in. If both earned the same amount of money, I'd pick digital over physical any day.

It depends on your market and which one as a seller you prefer to invest in. Both have their Pros and Cons.
