Will it help my results ranking for a keyword-phrase if I buy the keyword-phrase URL and redirect it with a 301-redirect to my site... then get some backlinks pointing at that URL? i.e., buy: desirable-keyword-phrase.com 301-redirect to mybrandname.com or longtail-stuff.desirable-keyword-phrase.com/more-longtail-stuff.html 301-redirect to mybrandname.com/more-longtail-stuff.html If this doesn't help, is there some other way to for mybrandname.com to benefit from registering the keyword-phrase.com URL? The follow up question would be if keyword-phrase.com and keyword-phrase.org are already taken, is it just as valuable to get one with double hyphens, like keyword--phrase.com? Is this the right place for this question?
You should just make a targeted web page; mybrandname.com/desirable-keyword-phrase/ and use a proper title tag, heading tag content structure and so forth. 301 redirecting a domain name will not have any value especially if it has no links or original content.
Each website, in my experience, multiplies the workload by many magnitudes. It is far easier to maintain one large site than dozens of mini-sites. Maintenance is easy compared to promotion. You would do better getting links to your main site, including internal pages.
Thank you. I will not bother with the keyword-domain-names and stick with the key-word.html. My cart lets me name php scripts html so it is convenient for me to do that.
