PHProxy And Lighttpd

Has anyone had success with the two? I've had lighttpd installed for my main blog on my dedicated server for a while now. Today I installed PHProxy, and it's terrible slow. 30 second load times for some websites.

If you want to try it out, there it is. Google loads fine...ebay ..youtube...and myspace and things like that are terribly slow. Any ideas? Maybe a config issue?

I use xcache for a PHP cache.

No I never tried Apache. I just figured this was a lighttpd issue since the server can easily handle it.

Ok uploaded it to a new server that uses Apache. Script works like a charm, and is very fast. I can't keep it there though, so the question still stands. Why doesn't it work with lighttpd?

I'm going to install phproxy 0.5 with lighttpd tomorrow to see what happens. The only differences I can think of off the top of my head is lighttpd always runs php as a cgi and apache almost always runs it as mod_php which is supposed to be faster. Maybe lighttpd needs a few tweaks or that cache accelerator to match apache/modphp performance.

Anyway lets see how my server load looks tomorrow.

Narrowed it down to lighttpd. I used the same php.ini on my apache install as I did with lighttpd, and it worked fine. Something to do with my lighttpd :(

My phproxy 0.5 + lighttpd using fcgi was acting flaky with myspace logins. This is going to be a lot more tedious than I thought, I need to learn some debugging tricks to be able to root any of these issues out.

Let me know if you figure anything out. I installed apache on port 80 for main site, and proxy site. Myspace logins work fine with it.

Yeah myspace logins work fine with apache but when I switch to lighttpd the login system starts acting flaky. I'm going to check out some other proxy scripts and see how they behave in lighty this is dissappointing.

Try "Cgi proxy" in google. I think that works. Anyways I just switch to apache. Logging in to myspace seems fine. You can try it at http://aroundfilter.com

Oh well i really liked lighty to. Maybe I will eventually get two dedicated servers :D

Hmm are you sure myspace logins are working? Didn't seem to work just now using firefox.

For some reason for me it works when I type in a user/pass and hit enter. However when I physically click login it redirects to the register page. I assume most people hit enter =S

Yeah thats what was happening to me too...it sent me to that register page. The problem is that users will think its not working so its just as bad as it not working.

Is http://aroundfilter.com running on lighty or apache right now? Does apache give you myspace login problems as well?

Cool thanks for the spam I'll be sure to check it out...not.

Anyways yes around filter is running apache at the moment. Yes it gives issues. I think because myspace uses SSL it's an issue?

Why are you using my theme without a link in the footer? Did you pay for exclusive membership access to get the theme? It not, remove it from your site, you can't use it unless you pay and the link must remain in the footer at ALL times. This work is copyrighted to me.

    http://www.cyber-knowledge.net/proxy/color/

And I don't want to hear no cock and bull story that you're just testing and was going to put the link back, if you're a member at my site, tell me which one and the paypal transaction ID, if you can't, you have 24 hours to remove my work off your site. This goes for your other sites as well.

I checked and you are indeed a member, that being said, members know full well my link cannot be removed.

This theme was included in a .zip I found on a torrent site. It had a link or two in the footer which I removed. If you take off the color part of that URL you'll see the ones I downloaded.

Also since when can you put a (C) on HTML. Images + article + PHP code = fair game, but HTML? I think not.
