I can honestly say from experience that phpmotion has worked out great for us. It needs some changes on the template/theme/skin side for customization and can be a bit tedious but fairly easy to do. Also, there are some things that still need to be fixed but if you look on their forum they have a pretty active community and for the most part most provide great assistance. The phpshield thing is ANNOYING ! It can do without this but I guess no one is listening. The requirement for phpshield is not mentioned in requirements, and even if it is, it is cumbersome and problamatic, just see the number of posts by entering 'phpshield, in search in their forums. Why do I have to change host ? Have something that is common.
