PhpLynx Directory Script released

At last we are delighted to release the first FREE version of phplynx, which in our opinion is the best free directory script out there bar none. With the new text captcha as standard plus lots more it would be foolish not to at least try it!

I would like to see it, but I am to bored to register and send emails. Download link or at least automated download system would be nice.

The download site is being prepared as we speak, I wanted to release the script before christmas which is the only reason the script is being manually released at the moment. A little inconvenience for the time being is a small price to pay for such a good script that is FREE, but thats my own biased opinion, just like yours may be?

Yes there is a demo online for both the free and full version, the free version can be seen HERE The categories in there are me playing around with my business site, because it has an import system that allows you to import from phpld and esysndicat, (in the free version, more in the full) you can populate it with whatever category structure you want.

Sorry about that Britishguy, didn't want blatently post PhPLynx on this forum as a respect for the rules, hopefully they will let me keep it here.

You can get a free copy by registering on the forum at Cantufind.com/forum, until the download site is fully functioning you'll have to go through the laborius task of e-mail but its well worth it as the script is pretty good if I say so myself.

What are the differences between free and full what is the price for the full version.
And the million dollar question what this script as that PHPld doesn't offer?

 

The price of the free one is nothing, the full one, will be in line with yours, phpld and esyndicat, my goal wasn't to make money but to offer a script I had developed for my own use to the public because I could, the paid one will simply cover continued development.

What does it have that phpld doesn't offer? Well now,

• Anti-Bot Captcha
• Multiple Payment Processing
• Easily skinnable through ACP, no smarty required
• The ability to search three fields, for example, Service - Name - Location
• Integrated Ticket Support
• Controlable Access for Editors - You dictate the level of permission
• Import feature for easy migration from other scripts
• Suggest a Category the same time as a link
• Four levels of link submission - Not just featured - Totally configurable
• Change currency for ALL payment modules used not just paypal
• Static Pages - including the ability to upload the advertisers banner to his page
• Configuration Manager - Don't ask me to explain that one

That's just some of it, but to be honest there are things in phpld that we haven't put in the releases yet even though they are in the full script.

You can see some of the features of the free one HERE. You'll have to excuse the amatuer way I knocked up the helpfile, a real one is being done by my programmers, I did this as a temp measure.

The one real advantage that we have over phpld if you really want to know? Money! I haven't got a bottomless pit, but I do have a few pennies to put into this and each and every idea that is put to us will be considered for implimentation.

Hope that goes some way to answering your question? There are quite a few things I missed but what's the fun in giving it all away first go, I like offering surprises.

Looks decent enough (atleast better than phpldirectory anyways) . I can pay you right now 25 bucks if i can get unlimited license thing for paid one (not sure if you plan to do something like that. Just bought esyndicate unlimited license and it wont hurt to buy another script.

Might open up a directory farm or something here
