You are using phpLinkDirectory and everytime someone buys a link in your directory, you goto payments section and verify and whether the link has been payed for or not. If it is paid then you approve the link right ? If this is how you do then you may be fooled sometimes. So always open paypal and check whether the link was paid for or not. With a simple trick we can submit a link to any paid web directory and make phpld show the GREEN PAYED in the payment section with the correct amount. I dont intend to harm anyone but to be cautious just wanted to show the steps how this can be done. 1. Submit the link with the normal payed option on the submit page. Click submit and then the paypal button. 2. It shows "Processing payments by paypal ............" screen. On that screen immediately view source of the page and copy whatever is there. 3. Paste in notepad and find the spot <input type="hidden" name="amount" value="xxxxxx" /> there in place of xxx put 0.01 4. Save it with some filename.html 5. Open the file with the browser and pay 0.01$. 6. The link will be submitted and phpld will show the real amount and payed in the admin panel. So always check by paypal thank you aditya
Well, I verify the paid submissions by matching the paypal notifications against the payments in phpld...but a bug is a bug (if not its a hack)
It works for sure Aditya (you tested on my directory so i know ) but I would recommend that you edit your post and remove the method cuz many spammers might then utilize it - as most of the dir owners might not know about the bug..
Have not got this problems but only got submission with red payment. Every time I got a payment, I'll check my paypal
Was just coding a template when it came to my mind it can be done this way infact and it worked when i tried.
I got a listing from your side as a test, yes it shows green (payment made) but, though there is Payed Amount is still showing like Payed 0.00 So we will say it as Semi-Bug
When he did the same thing in one of my dir it was 100% sucessfull and i instantly deleted his listing after checking the paypal
I hope you are also aware of the payment verification mod (v3.1 users) that eliminates this problem. It will be in the next release of phpLD as well.
Thats nice.. It would be better if you add multiple link approval feature - Like there should be a check box next to every link, select them and the approve at once.
