phpLD - who would be interested in an affiliate system?

I've been using phpLD as the core for my new site. As part of it, I wanted to put in a fully integrated affiliate / referral system, to pay affiliates for their promotion of the site.

The purpose of this thread is to see how many people might be interested in such a modification (I would be selling it, as I'm looking to raise some money for promotion. The more people that show an interest, the higher on the priority list it will be.

What it does so far:

Although my own version isn't making use of smarty templates, anything I release to the community will do so. New members can be set by default as either an affiliate, or not. This allows you to add / remove affiliate status from individual members later on - or just run a restricted affiliate system. Referrals are recorded via a cookie at registration. An affiliate sale is recorded everytime a referral makes a confirmed purchase at the directory - that includes new purchases and renewals, so affiliates can create a residual income stream more easily.

A single config option allows you to dictate how long an affiliate sale will remain in limbo before maturing (ie. how many days before sales money can be given to an affiliate) in case of fraud etc. The affiliate page itself consists of an input box for a paypal address, and some basic stats such as number of affiliates referred, as well as the individual affiliate url. I'll probably also add in an option to track from which pages signups came from.

Sales wise, there are up to 4 sections, all of which include number of sales made, and the total sales revenue. The 4 sections are (a) sales that have yet to mature (b) matured sales that can be paid out (c) sales paid and (d) any sales reversed due to fraud.

On the admin side, it simply displays all sales revenue (grouped by affiliate ID) that has matured, but not been paid out. Then you just decide how often to make payments (eg. once per month) and then work your way through the list. Once a payment has been made, you just click on the paid link to update the sales status.

Would you be interested in something like this for phpLD? I'm initially thinking of a price of around $15-20 for the completed mod. It would be designed around 3.2 (which is what I'm using), but I'll also check out earlier versions for compatibility.

Feel free to suggest anything else you'd like the finished mod to do, if it isn't already listed above, not that I can take all requests on board.

Really? I asked around prior to making it and no one was able to point me in the direction of an in-house solution. If you have a link to a publicly available one, let me know, and I'll defer to that one (assuming the quality / price is good). Then again, if enough people show an interest in my own version, I'm certainly happy to push ahead with it.

 

Several external solutions but not integrated with phpld like the described project.

just my thought, in your mod, you have also the option to set the percentage affiliate get, an auto payment to the affiliate. This is just my suggestions. if you need another beta tester, would love to try it too.

 

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that. The affiliate levels can be individually / globally adjusted when required. I've never really dealt with any auto-payment scripts, but can have a look into it.

I think for it to do everything that is expected and including installation you could get $25-$50 range.

Maybe you can start off at the low-end while working out the bugs then once it is out of beta you could raise your prices. There are some add-on solutions and the one I saw started at $99
