phpLD Upgrade

I have heard that upgrading phpLD from the free version to the paid version 3 can be a bit hairy.

Just wondering from any other members if they have done this and is it even worth it.

I am working on a new design for my directory and if I am going to upgrade this would be a great time to do so.

    Thanks.

Simple just overwrite the old files, and read the upgrade post on phpld forum

the ones that have had problems are the ones that are too smart to read the guide

    lol I gotcha :)

It should not be a problem though, I am very good with PHP and after making my own design for proxiesdirect I am okay with the smarty engine.

You could set it up in a subfolder, test drive it and then move it up when it's all good

Still I will recommend you to do a "Test Update" before doing it to your working site. In that way you will know what to change in case you got any issue.

Thats what I plan on doing, I have a gateway that I bought in 03' (wish I had built my own back then) that I use as a local test server. Once its all running smooth ill up it :)

I have done this and it is worth it, My directory mvzr.com received plenty of paid submissions once I transfered to paid phpld :) Its great and has more features.
