DMOZ listed, Technorati links, Alexa Rank (or whatever) All is easy to extract with some php knowledge and imagination. Have it for all links on all my directories. This doesn't mean it's for share. I share only Link Popularity mod (look at footer) which is already on hundreads of dirs
I have not been able to make it work for 3.1, but I will keep trying to see what I'm doing wrong. I was able to make it work on 3.2 without problem, but on 3.1 - that's why I was asking.
I added the site of the day mod to my directory and the only thing the shows is the link "read more" nothing else is there. I followed the instructions as they were clearly written but nothing. Any suggestions?
Hello.. Im sure that he will be around sometime today and will help ya as the silkster is very good with his mods and enjoys helping out... thx malcolm
What's the URL? Either you have the .tpl in the wrong spot or the .php file in the wrong spot. It's a fairly self-contained mod.
the url is wii-directory.com i placed the tpl in my templates directory and the php file in the includes directory. in the init.php i reference the php and on the main.tpl i placed the include to the tpl, exactly as the instructions. the instructions were straightforward but the onily thing showing up is a link "readmore"
Hey Guys, Sorry, I have been sick the past few days so haven`t been near the forum. @mywebsearches Glad you got it working mate @Muneeb2Good Darge offers a mod for the backlinks, I offer a mod for displaying social bookmarks on any page of the site. @Tim_Myth & malcolm1 Thanks for helping out jharri26 while I was gone. @jharri26 Ok, this is a pretty straight forward mod, I am guessing you have done what many have which is to edit the template by copying it in from your link.tpl file. Below is a quick Q/A which should help you resolve the problem, if not PM me with your FTP details and I will take a look. 1. Is there a file called 'site_of_the_day.txt' in your '/temp' folder on the server? If this file exsits, move to the next question. If not, first check that the '/temp' folder has the correct permissions and reload your homepage. If that doesn't fix it, check to ensure you have included the line in your 'init.php' file as per the instructions. 2. If the file from Q1 exists, does it contain a number? If the file is blank, delete the file and reload the homepage. If the file contains a number, move on to the next question. 3. This is the most common problem... Did you copy your code from the 'link.tpl' file into your 'site_of_the_day.tpl' file and then begin editing? If so, that won't work, the systems use two different arrays for referencing the data. Copy the original 'site_of_the_day.tpl' file from the zip file to your server and reload the page.
SilkySmooth- I sent u a pm. I looked it over again with no luck, the tpl is default using the sotd array and the txt file is empty even after deleting and refreshing homepage. Thanks J
