It looks like you have a damaged template file or you could have inadvertently modified it.

    I'm not 100% sure but fgory.ID should be $category.ID

Try to check the file top_bar.tpl in the zip package and upload it again.

Try downloading and/or reuploading the template to your site. Massi is correct, I think - as far as I know, the only variable ending in "gory.ID" should be "$category.ID".

If that doesn't work, either contact the template designer or try asking for help at the phpLD Support Forums.

thanks minstrel. already tried changing the variable to "$category.ID" but still an error.

I've also asked on the phpLD forum and thought also of bringing it up here coz I see lot of phpLD directory owners here..

The thing is - if that line is corrupted, there's a pretty good chance it's not the only one.

Check that you have identified .tpl files in your FTP program as ASCII files - that botched me up once a few years ago because for most FTP programs the default ASCII list doesn't include the .tpl extension.

I have never seen this error, and tend to agree there is something not quite right with the template. Feel free to point out the thread you are referring to...
...and which template are you using?

Which version of PHP Link directory you are using? if its v.3 then I believe there is nothing wrong with the template as its been tested thoroughly with v.3. I am not sure about v.2 but i will check if there is something missing.

Edit: I had a look at topbar.tpl file and was unable to locate fgory.ID ; I even searched the entire template files. It seems like you either tried to modify the template or you have corrupt template files. You said you downloaded the zip file and will now download the .tar.gz file. There isn't any .tar.gz file available for download. Where are you downloading it from ?

I just checked it with v.2 as well and it works fine with me. Have you followed the instructions in readme.txt file correctly. I noticed most of the ppl forget the last step of removing the temporary files from /temp/templates/

I am using the only free version, does the peppermint template can be used also for v.2?

I downloaded the templates on the link on your sig, the designers directory and I haven't touched or modified the template files.

Sorry, I am referring to the phpLD download for the tar.gz file. I followed the instructions for the installation and also for the templates but there are no files inside this directory /temp/templates/ after a successful installation.

I would try downloading a new copy of the skin. extract top_bar.tpl from it, and re-upload that file to the phpld/templates folder.

Note* The temp/templates folder is supposed to be empty.

Yes the peppermint template works fine with version 2. I will say again that this isn't the template issue as the error you are referring to has something to do with fgory.ID which isn't there in the templates. Have you tried installing it on your local machine first ? Do a fresh install of PHP LD and then template.

Please see also my post above. Make sure you are uploading the TPL files in ASCII format.

Please read the entire thread. There isn't any problem with the template. He was not uploading the template files in ASCII format.
