So why not to simply ask on PM?
Mods are mods, this one for CLOSING CATEGORIES is a part of 7 mods pack.
Just go to footer link and review it. Each mod from the pack comes with detailed installation guide.
You can also always ask via email or PM for some free support or ask about installation.
I always listen to client's suggestions - and do what they wish if it's only possible.

So with the mod you can close all TOP categories but leave it opened for Fetaured submission.
There's even example in mod's tutorial exactly how to do such restriction. I wrote about it.
Then in Admin while editing Category you have new option for closing/opening category. So all you need to do is to close all TOP categories.
One of easiest to code and install, but preety useful mods from the pack.

 

I did not pm you dargre, cause i do not plan to use it on my directory only, its to help others out there, and will release it for free, so if that is ok with you do pm me your price.

Its the least i can give back to phpld community.

Forgive me if im butting in and maybe you are looking for something else or have already privately discussed with dargre, but it appears that the particular mod already now does what your after paidhosting, regarding closing top cats but leaving them open for featured, or other combinations.

Ive purchased the mods pack, great pack for the price, very decent.

Once again forgive me if you already got things sorted.

Disappointed here and shame on you dargree, you thought i wanted it for myself. Ever heard of the community and how many users want such a feature out there. I was willing to pay you and release it if you do not have time for that for making me such a mod. But seems like you have problems with understanding english.

Time to contact Vs_dan lets see if he can do this for me and others.

But anyways looks like money drives things around these parts of dp.

I am beginning to get the big picture..
