PHPLD Script Hosting problem

    Hi

Recently I along with my clients faced an unusual problem with PHPLD script with HOSTAGTOR/SEOHOSTING

    1. Though without any significant traffic I am running out of bandwith
    2. An excessive amount of CPU usage and the file causing that index.php and submit.php caused a load of over 775 on the server and hosting people block my account!
    3. I found the problem mainly caused by some kind of crawler that auto load the pages

And for this hosting companies suspended the accounts as well and asked me to move on dedicated!

Any solution or recommendation? Any help?

    Thanks

I also have PHPLD installed but i did not faced any issue - you can try our hosting if this is just a hosting problem - because usually PHPLD dont overload.

I have almost 32000+ links installed in the directory but never faced any problem of overloading...

It is nothing wrong with the hosting as HogtGator is one of the most reputable hosts on the market. It is in fact a problem with the script and the developer does have a fix for this.

Also this is not the section for hosting recommendations.

I was not referring to you when I said hosting recommendations. There was another member that was recommending for you to switch to his hosting and that is not allowed.

As another member has stated, go and join the official forums and ask for help there as there is a fix for this I just forget the link. It is a glitch in the script that allows open access to crawlers and its an easy fix.

I to have suffered from this error in the past.

You can apply the ajax category mod. That can really help you reduce load on the server.

Don't use shared hosting. You'll need a VPS or Semi dedicated server for a decent directory.

I don't think so. Unless you have a large scale directory, with many submission, or heavy heavy traffic.

OR.. if you have a buggy directory script that smashes your host provider, then you can throw away even more money by acquiring a "decent host" for a "killer script" :)

well, i remembered , when i opened my forum, there was few spammy spider keep on visiting my site just like googlebot(more than that), they are responsible for using bandwidth...

i think there is some spammy script is running on your server, well it might be possible, someone has added it.

Are you sharing your hosting with some other people??
