PHPLD question - How to manage yearly submissions.

Discussion in 'Directories' started by MeetHere, May 10, 2007.

I changed my submission price to per year pricing..
    I have v3.2 script..

Now, what will happen after 1 year :

1 - Will the listing gets deleted or goes to pending status after 1 year?
2 - Will the submitter be informed after 1 year ?
    3 - Will I(owner) be informed/reminded of expiry ?
4 - Does the date of expiry (1 year) will be added to the listing automatically in admin panel?

Have more question and will be posting slowly..

On mine, it's subscriptions.. But if they don't subscribe for a featured link i think it gets downgraded to a regular link.. but i'm not positive

i'm interested in finding out the answers too....

for me, i wld think that all submitters will be notified 1mth before their link expires and invited to renew.

good question abt whether the expiry dates will be recorded somewhere or do owners have to track it manually??

I believe that you have to manually add an expiration date in the admin panel when reviewing listings (directly below the Status - "Link Expires"). I'm thinking any expired listings will remain live until you validate the links. I also think the expired links would then be set to inactive along with broken links.

Admin >> Directory >> Validate Links

If this is not corect, I hope someone will chime in and let us know. ;)

It is true that you can enable paypal subscriptions.
We are working on some new improvements to the payment system that will be in the next version that should do a lot to help.

That is one of the reasons I opted for Permanent listing. I was not able to find these answers. :(
With yearly pricing, there is too much work involve. I don't think it will inform Submitter that there link is going to expire unless they are on PayPal subscription. (Just my guess)

I would like also to know the answers to these questions and I don't find anywhere.

In phpld you have the option to setup the links yearly, so what does it mean then?
Must we send a reminder to every site's owner their links are going to expire and to pay us manually?

I have my directory since past December but I ask myself how the directory owners with more than one year directory are doing now?

I think from the script owner, this is a very inadequate reply to the OP which was very clear and asked for answers to 4 questions. I too am interested in this question.
