I think the skin is more important than script

The skin is easy to modify imho... but if the script has a bug that ruins your directory that's a totally different situation.

Where did you get that nonsense from? A skin is the least of your worries if you have poor coding that can cause you to be hacked. I've tested both phpld and esyndicat latest versions, if I never knew better the codes are almost identical and neither are better than each other as they both have their merits.

lol, Clearly not up the North in reality land. :) People must be off the rails if they think it's all about features, it's like having the shell of a ferrari but the engine of a sewing machine under the hood.

    Old thread guys!!

But while we're at it I definitely have to say php link directory...

I have 5 sites running it and its smooth, stable, and definitely very nice for an admin to manage!

I could care less about how smooth and/or stable anyone thinks phpld is. The support for those of us interested enough to join their forum is abysmal. You will be treated like a scammer or spammer, given no options on how your forum interface will be and treated with contempt if you even ask about it. I want more from a company who nickels and dimes me to death (that's a whole 'nother story).

eSyndiCat support is very friendly - when they bother to support you. I have seen support issues go untended for weeks and far too many have never been resolved. Their upgrade process is ridiculous and there is such a disparity in the use of the English language, it often times creates great confusion and misunderstanding.

If it's a decision between PHPLD and eSyndiCat, just say no. Find something else - there's plenty more available from companies that really want your business and who will treat you with respect.

    R'gards,
