PhplD news system

Many people run blogs with their directories, write news, infos, etc.
But I thought it's not the same as having news as a component of the directory.
All we know that unique fresh content like news is always welcome by serps.

So I prepared lately NEWS system for phpld.

Works preety similar to blogs, wordpress etc. Also has comments system.
Due to possible abuse I decided that comments must be accepted by Admin before display. Can be accepted/deleted in Admin, but also for each comment Admin receives email with some info concerning comment and commented news + quick links to remove/accept comment.
All NEWS system of course with seo-friendly rewrited URLs.


But I'm also curious of other webmasters opinions
Should I prepare a mod for that and release it?

You can see it working on top-left bar of All 4 Seo.
There are only 2 news and one month for news archive as I added it today.
But think it shows well how it works.

It would be great addition to phpLD directories, everything looks fine, but if you have a look http://www.all4seo.net/news/ there should be latest news links instead of that Leave a Reply thing, and webmasters will be able to put link to mydirectory.com/news/ in the navigation properly.

Let me know when you have released it, i will surely give it a try

Dargre, Please do release this as a mod and if you have to charge, please make it a reasonable amount. I am sure alot of people will appreciate it as it would take away the need to integrate WP.

 

I do not have list of latest news. Only single news from latest on the bar can be shown. It's always possible to list news by months instead latest.

If you tried empty news url - you are right - there shouldn't be comment form showing. So I just added additional check and display News ID error instead of comment form

Same I did now for news archive. If not month+year specified - error will be displayed.

 

You know I always have reasonable prices.

I think I will add another comment system to link detail pages.
There was always a problem with abuse, but with captcha + some additional security code + accepting/removing comment via email sent to Admin it should work preety good.

 

How soon can you release this? I was waiting for vegabond to release a matching WP template for one of his templates to integrate WP for a news section but I may not need to anymore. Do you have a timeline and estimated price?

 

max 2 days - I need to prepare tutorial, installation files.
All in 2 copies for 3.06 and then 3.1, 3.2 versions.
The one you can see on All 4 Seo is 3.06

Its great idea, but what with duplicat content - the same text on each PHPld?

Maybe random text from RSS ?

Where do you see duplicated?

And more - news are changing, news are coming - this way you have always fresh content on site.
Each single news has own unique title and url predefined in Admin, so can be different.
Only news from archive comes from timestamp so it is eg. "October 2007 News"

There can be even different description and keywords for META, though I do not find it so important. title and content is unique - this is most important.
