So I have correctly set permissions on all files, but when I try to run the installer all I get is a blank page. This is on a Plesk VPS running linux/php 5.0.4 I have tried IE7, FF 2, and IE6, still all I get is a blank page. I have also viewed the page using proxify.com to confirm it's not my connection. Also, I am trying to install on a subdomain with php enable which I have confirmed php is running fine on the server. (http://directory.myurl.com)...... Can anyone pleasseee help me figure out why I am getting a blank page? I really need to get this installed.
phpLD 2 .... I can see the basic HTML tags (everything between the body tags is missing) I have not posted in the supporters forum as I am too broke to spare $10 on this project. Thanks for the quick replies
Ya, it's redirecting me to the proper install directory. Breakdown of what i did: -Created subdomain "directory" via plesk -Uploaded files to /subdomains/directory/httpdocs/ -CHMOD'd all files per INSTALL.txt (did experiment yesterday in which i CHMOD'd EVERY last file to 777) -Directed browser to http://directory.myurl.com/ , which redirects to http://directory.myurl.com/install/index.php . I have of course tried going directly to the page using all browsers on this computer (FF, IE7, IE6), and by proxify.com
If you will PM me over on the phpLD forums, I may be able to get someone to take a look (assuming this will be a "quick fix")
I had encountered this sort of problem once...later I found some files were not completely uploaded ( eg - 0 bytes )
Thanks for the replies, I just checked all the file and all the remote files match a freshly unzipped phpLD 2.... Re-upp'd each file individually just to be sure, no luck :-( dvdual, I can't go to the supporters forum.. Does someone have a slightly older version than the one on phpLD's website that they could send me?
Sorry about not sending the PM. I did see that you didn't have to pay to join the forums, but I was unable to located dvduval on the forums, and I really don't want to bother you guys with support over a free script. I'll purchase v3 sometime this week when a check comes in and see if I can't get it to install, then I'll go bug ya'll. The client is not in a big hurry over having this up and running so I can hold it off a little bit longer. That and: On another note, I was experimenting on a domain I bought earlier this year for a niche directory, and was able to install phpLD 2.1 with no problem. It must be something to do with ipowerweb, Plesk, or the subdomain..
Client has 11 sites on the server (+ some databases), and the main site is really, really big and I just moved it to this server last week, and all the other sites last week Not going through that again for this client any time soon, I get tooo many big moves as it is.
It wouldn't look as professional IMO, and would cause more needless clutter in the httpdocs folder, and there is already lots of clutter there as it wasn't setup using directorys to seperate a lot of pages that should of been seperated, and then there are already seperation folders and and and and... lol Really, though, I like it being seperate from the bulk of files as it would be less likely to have files disturbed
Then adjust your DNS ( add a CNAME record [ subdomain.domain.com ] pointing to the IP of a new linux hosting account ) and install phpld there. That should help you as you wont need the full sites moved just for running phpld...
