Hi I have one directory that runs on phpLD 3.1 script. Is there some code that will re-write each and every page title according to the heading/url - just like on blogs which have page titles according to the post? If yes -please give me detailed instructions as I am experimenting something with one of my penalized directories. If my experiment is successful - all of us will benefit.
Thanks. yes I know it as two of my directories run on phpLD3.3. But I am experimenting -- and just imagine - if my experiment is successful - then we will have many unique directories running on phpLD3.1.
i think it's what you are looking for, http://blog.rakcha.com/2007/08/23/phpld-custom-category-titles/
Once again, There is such thing like phplinkdirectory supporters forum And easily you can find topics about seo friendly URLs. Both: rakcha and phpld forums solutions are far from being enough stable, but it's better than nothing. - D.
Thank you everybody for trying to help me. I have also gone to all my friends -- and one of them ( Kashem ) worked on my directory himself and succeeded in doing what I was looking for. Actually, I have been studying about the prolonged penalization period of some directories though they have stopped selling/buying links. I chanced upon a theory that Google is using a Keyword Stuff Filter - i.e. - repeated words on hundreds of pages. And by default directories have same pattern of page titles -- Either-- ***** Directory->Internet->SEO ***** Directory->Internet->Webmaster Resource Or just the opposite -- i.e. SEO->Internet->***** Directory Webmaster Resource->Internet->***** Directory What I want is -- Home page should contain page title Category pages should contain only category title -- like http://www.pagerankluck.com (Page Title - Page Rank Luck Directory ) http://www.pagerankluck.com/Business_Software/ Page title = Business Software instead of Page Rank Luck Directory - > Business Software I have no problem in acknowledging that this directory has been penalized in November. I have stopped selling site-wides links and removed even links of most of my sites. It got back its home -page PR 3 days back. But it has not yet got back its SERPs. ( It ranks between 40 and 50 for its domain - pagerankluck ) I have applied my new idea with this site -- so we will see the result after 2/3 weeks and I'll report it to you guys.
