I think im missing something really basic here, ive uploaded the folders/files , ive changed the permissions to 777 where theyve asked , but i still cant get the installer to start.

I guess im missing something really basic here.

    3. Access the installer/updater by trying to go to the directory.
It should forward you to http://www.your-domain.com/install/ ,
if it doesn't try typing in the URL directly.
    Code (markup):
I actually tried this at three differnt free hosts which have php/sql support, i tried another dir script (free php directory) and it worked well. I think im missing some really basic config step. Can anyone point me to the right direction?

    I tried
hxxp://criminallysane.kwikphp.com/install as it says, er ..

It maybe that your hosting isn't set up to automatically recognise .php extentions and that .html is the default setting via the .htaccess configuration.

Try: hxxp://www.yourdomain.com/install/index.php to be more specific

Failing this make sure all the folders have uploaded properly - failing this simply use the free phpLD support forum... thats what its there for :)

First you shall check whether your server meets the requirements of running a php script and sql database. Second, check each file and folder make sure you don't miss any files uploaded.

I tried to run a phpld2.1 on Windows server, and got the same problem as you.
