PHPBB2 MOD Review/Test Drive - Trusted DP Member Required

I just finished coding a rather nifty phpBB MOD to do with getting a new forum off the ground very easily.

Won't be spoiling the surprise just yet, when I finished the VB version I'll launch it.

Before that day I need a phpBB 2 forum owner who would like to test drive this for me. You can keep the code at no cost. Just give me detailed feedback on the installation procedure, bugs and wish list etc.

You will need to add and modify a small number of files and run a few queries on your database. No massive changes and all can be undone easily. Would suite a brand new installation best though so if you are planning on getting a new forum off the ground, this is a great opportunity to do so at no cost whatsoever.

Post or PM if you are interested. For now I'm only considering DP members I know well because I'm expecting a virtual handshake on a NDA.

I'm up for testing the VB version if you're looking for testers. It's not on a new install though?

Dcristo is going to test the phpBB version. No doubt it comes back with some ideas for improvement. After that I may pick a 2nd tester. Thanks tanfcw for the offer though I'm going to pass since I've never heard of you, sorry!

I'm going to finish the VB version now and will get to you two about testing that one. It can run on an existing board but you'll probably want to dedicate a sub forum for it.

Hope its not similar to talker bot?

    >Its been long time I used phpBB, hence might not be able to help, the reason why I'm not using phpBB is because I have migrated all my boards to VB.
I run 4 vb forums, administrate three huge big community forums[only back end].
Have done small custom mods for vb.
I will be glad to test your vb mod.

The phpBB test went so well, I believe the guy is off to register a hundred odd forum domain names :D

I have a long list of VB wannabe testers but haven't finished the code yet. This plugin/hook system, whilst wonderful, is not really handy for code hackers like myself. Takes a while to get used to it. And more to offer neat code, streamlined with VB's style.

This afternoon it'll be finished and I'll contact one or two of you VB kids.

VB version is ready for testing.

Can you guys please let me know which version of VB and phpBB you are running so I can pick a nice cross-mix of platforms? Ideally I get both latest versions tested by tomnorrow noon so let me know if that time frame suits you. Probably won't take more than 5 minutes time for VB, 15 for phpBB (gotta love VB Products/Plugins/Languages).
