Are there any specifics I should follow for implementing AdSense in a forum like this?? The forum is new, and when I click on the profile link, without being logged in, it tells me: "View ads about..." and there appears a little box, like a search box. What did I do wrong?? BTW, you can check it out: freeipodusa.com , and just click on profile. P.S: Also, can I just choose what type of ads will show, like, I want them to be about ipods and mp3 players?? Because, my site is related to that, but so far, the ads that show up are related to phpBB and phpBB hosting (just because it is a phpBB forum!)... way off!
If I am not mistaken, you aren't supposed to have Google ads on login pages. That is a TOS violation. Give it some time and the ads will display relevant ads.
that was because, Adsense don't know what to display with. And when Adsense don't know what to display, it only means there is no content on that page. But on the case of your site, that is against the TOS. So you should configure your code so that Adsense Ads will not be displayed on that page.
The best place to put Adsense ads on phpbb forums are in the viewtopic_body.tpl & viewforum_body.tpl. You can be pretty creative with it, though... check out my photography site (link in sig) to see some ideas
