phpBB update - will it mess up what I have modified?

    My phpBB admin panel is telling me I need to update. Will it overwrite all changes that I have already made, or does it just update some of the files? Has anyone had any experience with this, or have encounted any problems updating?

    Yes, normally everything will revert back to normal phpbb. Then you'd manually have to reinstall all your hacks all over again :)

    Essentially yes but VB rewuires much less mods than phpbb and vb mods seem to get updated quickly compared to phpbb. My forum had over 15 mods with phpbb...with vb I use only 2

    In phpBB you have 2 choices: install the updates or the code changes. If you have a modded phpBB, there are teh code changes you need to put and it's like installing another mod in the end. Don't forget to BACK UP before
