PhPBB or SMF for a forum?

    Another thing - when a confirmation email is sent - and it says from "ME" (literally), how do you change that to say the name of your forum?

    Really... I get the images to work, then next time I look at them, they're gone. I keep messing around, get one of the 3 to work, then it's gone. wtf.

    Check with your hosting provider for installation.

    We use Hsphere and all I had to do was select the forum app I wanted, click the "install" link and that was it. ... done.

    If your hosting provider uses Cpanel, you should be able to install a forum very quickly with Fantastico.

    I use phBB.

    Have for years and it's been great.

    I prefer phpBB. It was really simple to install with fantastico and easy to mod etc.

    I definantly prefer SMF because it has a easy-to-use interface and the phpbb admin panel sucks, i don't even understand it!
