Thanks for the +ve feedback about the new phpBB forum auto posting software; A person has PM'd me a challenge with the software and it sounds like fun, so follow along with me and see if I can do it. Here's what I have to do; Six weeks timeframe Using the phpBB Autopost Software I wrote Create a brand new forum which is not indexed at all in Google for a forum Get over 150 000 posts in six weeks Make some money off the forum by week eight I'm up for the challenge and I will be interested to see if it can be done. Anyway, I have the domain name http://redesping.net/ which is indexed in Google for a default wordpress website. I have removed the wordpress website and added in a clean install of phpBB 3.0.1 and I have decided to create a sports forum. Follow this thread and see how if I can do it
Hi, re "is there anyway to remove the powered by yahoo answers part?"; Yes, you can if you want. I leave it in there to give acknowledgement to the source
Update; It seems I have used up all my API allowance from the Yahoo Answers for today but still managed to get [Total posts 5745 • Total topics 908 • Total members 5054] I'm just going to leave the software running but now it's time to do some SEO to get the bots coming and crawling. If I enter my domain name www.redesping.net in Google I get back four pages of an old wordpress website so time to build some backlinks. I decided to use "Sports" as a theme for the forum... I'm off to build some backlinks to get the forum spidered Cheers Mark
Second day, I left the software running for my domain name http://www.redesping.net and scheduled it to run every hour: I now have [Total posts 41902 • Total topics 6347 • Total members 26920] So, nearly 41, 000 posts in 16 hours 150, 000 posts is going to be easy in six weeks, so next challenge is getting the site indexed and making some money off it. Have a good weekend!
Hi all, time for an update; I am now up to 140 000 posts in the Sports Forum and I have started working on getting back links so that I get indexed. The other big news is that we have extended the software to allow drip feeding/ maintain active users online and a bunch of other new features. Re drip feeding / trickling the posts; We have just released a new version of the software which enables what I call "Pseudo Drip Feeding". "Pseudo Drip Feeding" works like this The software retrieves a topic and the associated answers for the topic. The topic is then entered into the forum and given a date somewhere within the last year. All answers posted to the topic are then posted after the inital topic date and the end result is that the inital topic and all answers are spread out over time giving the forum a much more natural look. We also noticed that it was possible to have a forum with thousands of posts and thousands of users but no-one was online which did not look realistic (!) The new release now has the ability to keep people registered people online so when a person visits the forum, there are active members online. There are a bunch of other new features available as well but these two were the big extensions Thanks! Mark
Hey there, I've been monitoring your forum and I must say, with the new features, it does appear to be a very natural forum. The only thing I noticed wrong was that some of the titles have the Yahoo Answers community in them. Such as: "God and football. Touchdown Jesus vs UCLA. What does the yahoo answers community think?" This is an immediate cue that the information has been lifted from Yahoo Answers. Is there any way you can have the program edit certain things? Such as leaving out the term "yahoo answers"? If so, the topic would then read: "God and football. Touchdown Jesus vs UCLA. What does the community think?" That's a much more natural sounding topic, because it's not referring to an outside community.
Hi, yes, great idea, in the next release we are going to be adding a bunch of new things and one of these will be a "bad word" filter whereby you can specify any words you want removed or if you want the actual post to not be posted. Thanks again for your feedback Mark
so this is a mod for phpbb? could it be used for blogger forum? I have a forum that has recently died
Hi, our forum now has reached the 150 000 posts mark so that's the posting part taken care of; It took about 2 weeks to get our 150 000 posts We have just started to have the forum indexed in Google and other search engines so once it starts getting real traffic I'll place some income generating ads up and see how I go.. Cheers Mark
Hey man.... I saw your site and everything...It seems a interesting Idea.. But wanted to know are these questions and answer all copyscaped pass ....Or they are copied from net itself...
wow $60 a piece, sounds like a good deal for such a good software, but tell me, is it just copy from yahoo answers, or can you make it copy from other sites ?
