phpBB Can it be SEO Friendly?

I am looking at giving phpBB a go but just wondering how SEO friendly it can be?

I am looking at mods to ad the following features:

    - Google Compatible Sitemaps
    - Optimised Meta Data (inc Page Titles)
    - SEO Friendly URLs

Can some suggest such mods? there does not seem to be much in the plugins directory on the phpBB site in the way of SEO.

Also any other plugins that people think are any good?

    Thanks in Advance :)

I have PHPbb installed on few forums which i run, but if SEO Friendly URLs installed and shows the forums original URLs, you need to check install instructions again for SEO Mod because you are missing installation guide

Its a pre-modded version so was already installed. Given up now anyway, way to hard to get it working how other boards do as standard.

    Looking at: http://www.mybboard.net now :)

Yep looked at that and its a nightmare. If a newer version of phpBB came out you have to re-patch loads of files and if you update your skin you have the same problem! Its far from Plug and Play :D

MyBB has a plugin called Google SEO and all you have to do is copy plugin to the plugins folder and add a few lines to the .htaccess file.

Im loving it so far :)

    Yes, it could be.
    There are mods out there.
If there isn't might be guides or just hire a freelancer :)!
