I run a forum where I'd like to install a bot that can autopost certain content posts from other forums to my forum. I've seen this done before with vbulletin, but is it possible with phpbb3? I need the bot to be able to duplicate celebrity photo posts from other forums and repost them to my forum. +rep to anyone who can help me out, thanks.

I beleive this is RSS posting, or you could always buy a normal auto poster that creates many members, topics, and posts.

I think that is a software, can be found on DP. It is a software, that automatically creates threads/users and so on, based on Yahoo answers etc.

I think it can boost a community, but I recommend limiting the amount of posts, but if you are serious, don't do it. I never done it, and I don't like the idea, itself.

i'm not sure posts from yahoo answers would help me much unless i just want to generate search engine traffic, which is not my goal. i'd like to have an active forum with a lot of content, so i'm looking for something that will grab threads from any forum i specify and post it on my forum. if it can create users and make replies and such that would be a great addition, but i'll just settle for something that will make posts.

You can grab threads and posts from forums using RSS feeds, I have vBulletin and know it comes built in able to do that but I am not sure about phpBB.

If not then there is probably an "RSS Feed Mod" (search for it) and if there isn't then it would be really easy to code one.

vbulletin has the rss poster... there are a few others out there too. ICO Content used to be able to pull content from Yahoo Answers but I don't know if it still works or not.

You do realize that when you rip content off from other forums, they can get your forum shut down under DMCA!

thanks guys i'm going to check out the rss option right away, if it works +rep all around!

at yogesh, haha screw them! i'm looking to get threads with photos and videos in them anyways, not threads that have much that can be considered "copyright infringement". not to mention, a lot of the posters who frequent the type of forum i run post the same thing on 10-20 different forums anyways.

Not if you provide a linkback, which most autoposters do, and now if you are hosted in a country where it is legal.
