Well it's not really that hard. I've put in Adsense in my PHPBB3. The Adsense is actually a simple script I found PHPBB3 forum. Try to search in there.

I suggest you include the adsense code in the header section. Open up header.php in the includes folder of your theme, and paste the adsense code there....

I would advise against putting it in every post. This will not win you any friends and drive down membership. People really do not like having the flow of conversation interrupted with too many ads.

Another reason for not putting ads after each post is that the script needs to access Google ad servers for each call. You could see your board slow down, way, way, way down.

Usual place is to insert it immediately following the original post or the first post of the page. But this will require some special logic to limit it to just that location. PhpBBHacks.com may have a mod for that type of thing.

If you want to add it to the top of your pages, and right before the content of the page itself, look at inserting the code in your index_body, viewforum_body, and viewtopic_body template files (.tpl)

Otherwise, the quick and easy way is to add the code to your overall_header.tpl file. But this spits out ads on every single page of your site, and sometimes that is not desirable especially if it is a registration page

Here is a Mod that will insert your adsense code as a post immediately following the original post.

    http://www.freakitude.com/2007/02/22/adsense-ads-in-phpbb-forum-topics/

This will blend in fairly well, and may generate more clicks from se referrals landing on your topic. I think it may tee off some of your members having to look at it all the time. Perhaps hacking this mod may be order to overcome that, like not showing the ad post for logged in members?
