phpBB 3.0.0 - upcoming mods :)

    Hi everyone,

    any idea how long it would be before the following mods are available for phpBB 3.0.0:


    SEO friendly URL's + tags etc.
    better anti bot captcha mod
    google adsense mod
    rev.sharing mod


    how long does it normally take? I mean there are 10000's of them for 2.0.22 but 21 in total for 3, and frankly most of them are pretty useless....

    you should look on the phpbb.com site

    phpbb-seo.com will release their premod 3.0.0 gold within a week

    what's wrong with the captcha that comes with it?

    you can add adsense whereever you want by editing the templates

    and I don't know about the revenue sharing, search the phpbb.com mods in development forum

    Well.. the software has only just been released and most of the coding has changed so the modification developers have too get familiar with the new code.

    I would say in a few months, if not shorter.

    1) phpbb-seo, thanks for the info
    2) well, the last phpBB's captcha system got abused in about 4 minutes, so I prefer two levels of security ;)
    3) true, I suppose so, BUT::::
    4) this is what I was really thinking about.

    Ive looked through the phpBB mods forum but as Im not a member I just thought Id ask here, quicker and I prefer the company :D :D :D

    The new captcha looks pretty nice, no reason to upgrade until you start noticing spam. There are only 21 mods for 3 maybe but there are a ton in development right now. I'm sure adsense and rev sharing mods are in the works too. Gold did only come out this week :p

    phpbb-seo premod is great, it will do all the url rewrites you would need and some very nice meta tags

    That is RC7 though (in case you didn't notice) and they said that the version for 3.0.0 should be out within a week of the final release of gold. But yea, that link lists everything it will have in it.

    yep, I noticed just as I went to download it,,,, the whole RC5/7 releases have already got me in hot water once, as I installed a style and then everything stopped working.... just as well I tried to post after installing it... what annoyed me though was that Id spent an hour modifying it to fit in with my site.

    I doubt it would take them long to come up with these modifications - reason being, phpBB does have a good amount of developers, and since it is open source and a freeware there's a lot of contributors to the community.
    I could say a few weeks approx.
