PHP Variable name length

    I was just wondering how long can a php variable name can be? I have search a little bit but didn't find anything. And also how long can be a session/cookie name?

    I don't see why anyone would name it as long a possible, I tend to keep it short and simple. But to answer your question, there is no limit in the length of the variable name.
