Unless you have a requirement different from the existing eCommerce solutions available, why rebuild the wheel? I don't want to discourage you but do build a eCommerce site right after learning PHP. Instead, you can use some of the tried and tested software like Magento or OSCommerce and others. Where else you can learn PHP better than from the authors php.net? You may have many tutorials to get started like W3Schools, About, Tigzag and others but you must eventually come back to php.net for clarifications and reference on function specific issues.
I would suggest to go for with a open source ecommerce solution like oscommerce or magento. Google may help to find documentation/tutorial
That's bad solution. IF someone wants to learn PHP, he shouldn't look for open source codes xD Maybe yes, so he can .. get "fimilar" with code, but best are, for example w3schools
