PHP script needed for (something like a blog)

Hey guys,
It's been a long time since i've been here. But now i need advice.
I want a script for a website of a computer club in college.
So, basically, we cover certain topics in our meetings and the topics are different every meeting.
What we want is a kind of website in which a page is dedicated to one meeting.

There should also be a downloads page where we can upload stuff like softwares used etc.

I thought of using a blog software, but i don't want comments or any other users at all. Thats why i rejected scripts like Joomla.

Why not use a wordpress blog and don't allow comments or registration?

 

I thought of that....i think i will give it a go.

Well, if you want to make it a very exclusive site where only members can access it, you could use the Moodle online classroom script. I'm sure there are other options too but that's what comes to mind at the moment.
