PHP RSS feed display weird characters!Pls help!

    I have an shtml page to display php rss feed. I have uploaded everything to the right directory the code etc. Permissions set to 777. I have SSI on the right spot.
    But when i try to view to rss feed that is what i get:������ìÍ1‚0à¿rĉgœrÐFhI[$þ{mLü No½÷¾wíA)ºsôÎO4ưЕ'gèÖu ]ØØr·œ¨ñ4¸Äý,ÑÖY8 +æA¯°E2ÁnÚ"g<)unËôožSIj]ëÓ÷•Íymªjßw½”žŠ)ió ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ÿ¢ß���ÿÿì˱����À ëÌ þlÛ¶mÛ¶mÛ¶mÛ¶��ÿÿì˱����À ëÌ þlÛ¶mÛ¶mÛ¶mÛ¶��ÿÿì˱����À ëÌ þlÛ¶mÛ¶mÛ¶mÛ¶��ÿÿì˱����À ëÌ þlÛ¶mÛ¶mÛ¶mÛ¶��ÿÿì˱����À

    This is killing me for 3 weeks already. Why is it happening ?

    It sounds like the wrong character set is being used.
