PHP redirect for outbound links - bad?

    Hi,

I've just launched my first website, so am still learning a lot of this as I go.

In my sites link section, I use a PHP redirect script for the sole purpose of recording which of the links my visitors are using. I imagine (but don't know, this is my first site!) that these stats will be useful to me.

However, can google understand these links? They uses a PHP header(location:) redirect after writing to the database. What are the repurcussions of links like this, if any?

I ran a search on the forum, and on Google, without finding much about this style of outbound link. Many thanks.

It appears I suck at searching.

I found something related, but not exact.

To answer my own question as best I can, Google can follow these links, but only but doesn't like them as much as normal links. I might be better off using a Javascript tracker instead.

I saw these links are only given an 80% "rating" by Google, I guess that is referring to it only caries 80% of the usual PR with it, or something?
