    .Net will be good for web site design and java will be good for back end processing.PHP will be better for additional plug -in's to be added.

    Ecommerce site needs good front end design and back end.also u need some good plug in's to be added to increase customer satisfaction oriented ... Basing on this decide what u want to do.

    I think php, mysql is the best option for development of your ecommerce site. Also there are free open source ecommerce softwares are available in the market like zencart, osconmmerce to help you in making the ecommerce sites. Dotnet & java are more complex languages & u will find mo0re php programmers in comparison to dotnet & java programmers in the market who will do your work in cheap.

    It depends on how big is the application.

    For heavy applications Java/JSP is better than PHP.
