PHP Meta Charset = none. Huge problem.

    Guys, take a look at this:

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="<?php bloginfo('html_type'); ?>; charset=<?php bloginfo('charset'); ?>" />

    Even when i insert a "utf-8" in there ^^ my site just doesn't accept characters like ç or ão.

    The wordpress install is set to UTF-8.

    Any ideas what is happening here?

    Will pay for solution.
