I am by no means a web wizard, but this is baffling me.

I want to use php linkdirectory .com for my directory, but I cannot figure out how to properly download this for use. the latest version is in .gz and I dont know what the heck to do with it.

The previous versions com in a zip, which I am used to. I am even considering downloading the last beta to give this product a try at this point, but would rather havet the latest and greatest.

    Please help

much appreciated. I have heard lots of good things about this. I have another directory script downloaded to evaluate and would like to compare the two in order to see which is best.

I was using winrar for a long time. I switched to izarc, and have been pleasantly surprised at what a difference it makes. :D

Well, I may suggest that you keep the zip option available for those of us that are clueless to all that gibberish above ;)

I have the product installed now and will begin working on the set up over the weekend. Thanks for adding the zip file so quickly.

I have downloaded it from phplinkdirectory.
and unable to install, when i read install.txt it tells me that
Upload the files in the archive to your host.
Change permissions on the following file and four folders to 777
    include/config.php
    temp/
    temp/adodb
    temp/cache
    temp/templates

I have using wamp as localhost for my system.

Any idea how will i do that?

    Thanks

You should ask this in the support forums of phpLinkDirectory http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/
