php link directory question...

    dont i need to delete certin files after installing this thing? or does it take care of everything automaticlly? i didnt see anything in the directions, i was just curious...

    I think it clears up files after itself but I'm not 100% sure, But I will try to find out.

    i checked out, kinda when some one moves to that url it asks for user id and pass

    example directoryrating.com/install . this will go to user id and password page instead of install wizard.
    i think install file got automatically deleted !

    just chmod the /install/ directory to 000 if your worried, or even delete it from your server.

    Hello all,
    The advice from the PHP link directory forum and admin is to: always make sure you back up your files locally and consider either deleting install folder(as mentioned previously) or/and change the config.php file permissions back to 644.

    When you upgrade in the future, you will use the install file again.
    I'm not aware of any malicious activity, but the advice given is good...
    either chmod to 0 or delete but save locally.

    rename your install folder to something else.
    include/config.php CHMOD it to 644
