Hi, Outline of the problem: I have a forum on this page: http://www.theafricangreyparrot.com/African-Grey-Parrot-Community-forum.html it is an SMF forum put in the page using inline frames. The problem that I am having is that having been crawled by google people are going straight to: http://theafricangreyparrot.com/forum/ and therefore they do not know about the rest of the site which is not good for me. ie they do not see the rest of the page! I need to integrate the forum into the site without the use of inline frames. How can I do this? Here is my first attempt: http://www.theafricangreyparrot.com/forum/index2.php Lets face it - it looks a wee bit shite! However I can just change the index.php file of my forum and therefore will not lose indexed forum pages and pagerank. Maybe this is the wrong way of doing it and I need to change the SMF template files rather than just the index page?! Any other suggestions? I'm in need of a bit of help really! Notting EDIT: Here is a another version which is maybe better: http://www.theafricangreyparrot.com/forum/index3.php Please let me know what you think! REP for all helpful replies!!
1] Have you submitted a sitemap? If not do so, it is quite efficient way to tell google whats happening on your site. Probably there will be a mod available for SMF for generating & updating a sitemap if it itself doesnt do so. 2] Did you put this link(theafricangreyparrot[dot]com/African-Grey-Parrot-Community-forum.html) on any of your other pages? Another possible way to alert google to presence of this page would be to insert a text link in one of your pages that Google already knows about. This way your page can be found by Googles crawler. This is some text I found:
Hi, Yeah all of the pages on the site link to the page you referenced. ie, http://www.theafricangreyparrot.com/ An example of what i mean is if you search african grey parrot events: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Gr...avclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B2GGFB_enGB215GB216 I think I have it sorted now. Im going to change: http://theafricangreyparrot.com/forum/index.php to the code in: http://theafricangreyparrot.com/forum/index3.php Cheers Notting
