hi all i have a forum and i want to this forum a hack to prevent users from editing their profile untile the management accept that i want to help please thank you
vBulletin supports that feature. And it would be VERY helpful if you told us what software you are using...
Yes it does. Make sure new users get automatically in the usergroup "(COPPA) Users Awaiting Moderation". Then edit the permissions of this usergroup and make sure they can't edit their profiles. EDIT: But I wouldn't do that, unless you have a good reason. It's extremely annoying for the users, and if their request doesn't get accepted while they're on your site, they might never come back...
ok i did that i open "(COPPA) Users Awaiting Moderation" and change the permission of the user and when i edit on the profile ,there is a problem , the page redirect to the admin area i want to give the user message not go to the admin area what i will do???
I don't think regular users will be redirected to the admin area. Did you try doing the same as new user? I mean, set up a test account and see what happens.
Indeed, this option (as described above) gives you the option to select for every use their rights! so there rights are not automaticly set... or does it? (minimum rights?!). Best way to prevent hacking of any PHP releated software is just by always upgrade to the last full released version (do not try beta's)
