PHP developer looking for marketer

I'm a PHP developer looking for someone with proven marketing skills to partner with me by taking over the marketing side of my PHP scripts sales, in exchange for a percentage of new sales revenue.

I've been doing this on my own as a full-time job (earning $20K-$22K per year) since 2004, but I haven't much of a clue about marketing -- I submit to scripts directories and sometimes play helplessly with adwords, but that's about it. My marketing expenses have been minimal (due to lack of clue of what's worth buying, perhaps), around $500/year on adwords and the occasional sponsorship at a scripts directory. As recently as March things were looking tolerable -- made $1100 in license sales in March, $500 in upgrade sales and filled with another $500 in customization projects. Since then sales have dropped to new depths, and site traffic continues to fall, even though the vast majority of my customers continue to tell me they love the software... so I have to admit I need the help of someone who knows what they're doing on the marketing side.

I'm getting about 60 visitors per day to the most popular script's website (WSN Links), but probably a lot of those are my ~1300 existing customers. The other scripts are getting around 10 visitors per day. I've just a few days ago made the forum script free to try to attract people, and there's also a little free form-to-email script, everything else paid.

The percentage you'll make is incentivized on whether you can improve the situation or not:
    • When there's less than $1000 in a month, you get 10% of sales to new customers minus marketing expenses
    • 20% when over $1000 in a month
    • 30% when over $2000 in a month
    • 40% when over $4000 in a month
    • 50% when over $6000 in a month

Let's say a guarantee of three months, and then any subsequent month when the new sales are over $2000 the deal can automatically continue as long as you're making a good-faith effort -- and it can be renewed by mutual agreement whenever sales are under $2000.

Please contact me as soon as possible (I'd like to make a decision within the next week or two) and describe some marketing work you've done in the past. Anyone with software-marketing experience would be perfect, but I don't know if I'll find that. Any references etc would be good but not required.

If you'd like to talk to some of my customers, view my analytics/adwords or get more information from me, please let me know.

Looking forward to working with you.
