This project involves making a php page that is able to connect to another php page, sustain the session, receive data from that session, and transmit data back to the site while maintaining the session in progress. There is nothing like "connecting two php files". Data transmit over the web in requests (GET or POST) and it depends on what data your transferring and how. Sessions in PHP are simply cookies that PHP creates, and this will depend on your browser (it must support cookies). I think the best thing is to explain clearly what you want, and let the developer pick the right method to do it.
I think that using cUrl you will find your solution, it allows you to send and receive data between 2 pages that do not necessarily have to be on the same server. The session will be retained on the page the user is on and it sends and receives data in the background rather then bouncing back and fourth between pages.
