If this is to better your chances of employment, I'd say a good knowledge, lots of experience and a decent portfolio of prior work will be what an employer would want to see rather than a qualification. I've never seen an employer ask for a PHP qualification.
I'm not sure about the beginners part but if you want a PHP certification Zend is the answer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zend_Certified_Engineer But as CI-Andres mentioned nothing can beat a decent portfolio!
