php calendar for desktop

    I need a desktop calendar widget with 2 features 1. the option to update the images by hosting and changing the same in the server. 2. the option to insert event details on clicking a date (like Outlook calendar). Please advise what is the right programming language for such a widget- PHP or VB?

    Uhm. PHP can't run stand-alone so it would be the completely wrong tool for this, unless you can run it as a webpage in a browser window - however, you'd have no alerts, no icon in the system, etc.

    usually using Photoshop and some knowledge of theme programming
    by any chance, what verson of windows you are using?
