I am working on setting up an article directory. It is going to be a small piece in a large puzzle. What I am wondering is if the current setup is it likely PR will be passed to the other internal pages from the index page? I am unsure how PR and PHP work together or what we would have to do to make this happen. I want the articles to be able to rank in the search engines as well as authors to get an incoming link to their site from the articles pages. If the php disallows this then my plan isn't that good http://www.getyourarticles.com/ is my site. Thank you, Derrick
Agreed... Whether PHP, ASP, HTML, etc., your PR value should be virtually the same (I'm saying virtually since I don't have the internal Google algo in hand ). You should be just fine if the remaining elements of your site promote PR value.
I agree that it doesn't matter what programming language you are using. To achieve the best PR flow to the internal pages I suggest to have categories and subcategories and on every page to have links to ALL the pages that are one level below. It also helps if you have the article title in the page name (article1.php), but I guess you know this. I don't know how big is your puzzle but this article site, having so much fresh content, might just become the most important piece of the puzzle. Toni iLoveSEO.com
